Overview


We’re looking for an Junior to Mid-weight Python Developer to join our growing team at Datablast.


You’ll be a savvy Python developer with experience in Python web frameworks such as Django and Flask, with a solid understanding of relational databases.


Exposure to AWS is a must as it's the backbone of our tech stack. You’ll also have experience of developing API data services to power diverse and distributed web applications and as well as experience of using front end Javascript frameworks.


You’ll have the opportunity to learn Data Science in Python, and contribute to our amazing products.


Knowledge, skills and experience


You will have knowledge and experience of latest development techniques, including:


  • The Python Django web development framework
  • A good understanding of relational databases, exposure to MySQL or similar and ability to write simple select and update SQL queries
  • Experience designing and planning data models for large applications
  • Knowledge of or experience developing API data services to power diverse and distributed web applications and mobile apps
  • Experience of Linux environments and the command line for trouble shooting systems issues an advantage
  • Experience of using version control systems such as Git and the peer review process using pull requests to ensure excellent code quality
  • Writing and updating unit tests to maximise code coverage
  • Experience with JQuery and modern front-end Javascript frameworks
  • Experience with Javascript charting packages
  • Ability to work independently
